Reporting

Outages

If your power goes out, take these three steps:

  1. Check your fuses or breakers. Reset any that have tripped off.
  2. Check with your neighbors to see if they have power.
  3. Call Carroll EMC's 24-hour phone service to report your outage
770-832-6979 or
1-877-9-OUTAGE

Or, if you're in a location that still has power but need to report that your home is without power, you can submit an outage report by emailing Customer Service.

What We Need to Know

Our phone system automatically identifies the name and address of the phone being used to report an outage. When you call, just tell us the name on your Carroll EMC account. We will then confirm your service address and telephone number. If you know the cause of the outage, please describe it. Example: A limb is on the line. A car has hit a pole, etc. Your help will save a great deal of time in restoring service.

If you have multiple accounts, you must enter your account number of the location of the power outage.

Restoration Process

Whenever a large outage occurs, we will activate our automated call handling system. This enables us to process all calls quickly and efficiently. Be assured we make repairs as quickly as possible, many by remote control and the rest on-site by our linemen. However, if your power is still off after it has been restored to other homes in your neighborhood, please do not hesitate to call us again.
