| Youth | Leadership Conference |
The Youth Leadership Conference, held at the FFA/FHA Center in Covington, Georgia, is sponsored by the Georgia Cooperative Council, Inc. The objective of the conference is to educate students about cooperatives. During the meeting, participants take part in a number of group exercises designed to build leadership skills and promote teamwork. Using a computer simulation, teams manage imaginary farm supply co-ops, competing against each other to become the most successful. Workshops include a four-part activity in which students assess their personality and explore ways to work more effectively with others.
The Georgia Cooperative Council is a statewide non-profit association whose members include marketing, supply, financial, electric, telephone, cotton and service cooperatives. The organization's objective is to promote, foster and encourage all types of cooperative associations in Georgia.
The conference is held in July of each year. For more information, contact Carole Thompson at (770) 830-5727 or carole.thompson@cemc.com.
